Slice of Paris in Somerville, MA
In 2019 I have started two businesses (oops); currently I am a freelance graphic designer as well as an organic herb, cut flower and vegetable farmer. These simultaneous ventures have made me hyper sensitive to other entrepreneurs stories and brands. After visiting gâté comme des filles one morning, I felt both of my worlds colliding. Not only is their branding enough to make you want to buy whatever comes in that little package, their ingredients are homegrown, seasonal and beautiful.
I walked in just as the shop had opened, the woman behind the counter had just taken off her faux-fur canary yellow jacket.
She then informed me on how the Meyer lemon chocolates are made; Alexandra’s sister ships her homegrown Meyer lemons from sunny CA to Boston, where they are then transformed into delicious chocolate treats. After tasting this Meyer lemon chocolate it became clear that Alexandra’s knowledge and skills are nothing to be second guessed, graduate from Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, it’s apparent she knows her stuff. Stop by Bow Market between noon-8pm to taste the magic of gâté comme des filles. Please note on their website they charmingly claim: “We are a little bit French, so call us before you make a special trip, 617-764-5872”.
